For Marcus‘ black Strat with HSS config the two sound doctors, Deml and Kloppmann developed a special set: with the singlecoils from the Real 62 Strat set and a special new humbucker, the HB-DML. The Real 62 Strat pickups sound fatter and earthier than the ST60 set and the HB-DML has a coil split offering the best of both worlds. While displaying all the biting legendary Kloppmann humbucker drive, the singlecoil has the true, authoritative Strat tone.

Adreas Kloppmann began working on guitars in the mid ‘80’s, during that time Andreas collected data from every pickup which passed his workbench. In the ‘90’s Andreas improved the analysis methods to further understand pickups and with the assistance of artists such as Thomas Blug, Jürgen Attig and Peter Weihe he discovered which frequencies found in specific pickup tones corresponded with which famous guitar tones he loved such as Hendrix, Hank Marvin and Pastorius.

Based on this ever developing knowledge, Kloppmann can now analyse the sound of a pickup from its data and decide what its ideal purpose is as well as replicate our favourite tones from musical history.
