Like nothing you’ve ever heard before.
At first sight the B&G Private Build Caletta acoustic guitar raises a question. Is it an OM? GA? In fact it’s none of these things neither is it any other body shape you’d be familiar with. The Caletta’s body shape sits somewhere between the traditional 00 to 000 shapes, designed by B&G as a solution to the lack of bass on smaller bodied guitars yet maintaining the ease of play. This unique body shape, along with the hand-voicing technique applied to the guitar’s top and selection of premium woods make the Caletta a truly unique and wonderful instrument. The Caletta Private Build Ziricote/Spruce is to us the blues girl in the family. The minute we took it out of the case, this guitar made us think of Eric Clapton (Eric if you read this make sure to check this guitar out). Also the Ziricote wood that B&G chose for this guitar is really stunning and from what we know about B&G, it’s safe to assume that every wood they choose for their guitars is on the same levels of quality. As for playability, the Caletta guitars are comfortable to work with and extremely lightweight. Take into account that these guitars may not fit the player who constantly plays above the 12th fret. These guitars are a great example of the good things that can happen when innovation meets tradition.
