The Martin brand is well known for the quality of guitars they manufacture. Their products have been serving guitarists and music enthusiasts for years now. The Martin DCPA5K is a recent one; let’s see what upgrades it has.Â
The Martin DCPA5K features beautiful koa patterned high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides combined with solid Sitka spruce.
You might be wondering what “high-pressure laminate (HPL)” means;
On a fateful day, Chris Martin, while taking a walk in the factory, noticed some bits and pieces of leftovers lying around. These leftovers were from cutting wood; he realised that he could use this for something good.
These leftovers evolved to the HPL used on the Martin DCPA5K. HPL is light, cost-effective and most important, sounds different and nice.
Combined with a solid Spruce top, X-1 bracing, and the vast experience and quality of Martin’s craftsmanship, this body material produces a very lively, natural-sounding guitar with a lot of power and loudness.
The top is made from solid Sitka Spruce, and the neck material is Brown Birch Laminate wood.
The fretboard of Martin DCPA5K is FSC Certified Richlite and houses 20 frets. You can find six strings running all the length of the fretboard.
This combination provides extra appeal and contributes to the rhythm of the guitar.
The Fishman F-1 pickup system is a major component that makes the Martin DCPA5K a wonderful performing guitar. It’s such an easy pickup, and the end product is fantastic with minimal effort.
The tuner is also useful and reacts quickly when in use.
These, alongside other features, ensure that you don’t need much strength when trying to pull strings.Â
 A lot of work went into the making of the Martin DCPA5K. The build is worth the hype, and it definitely sounds better than most other guitars in its class.
