When BOSS released the SL-20 years ago: a pedal effect that transforms guitar, synths and basically any input to groove-pulsating instruments, it shocked the industry. The BOSS SL-2 is compact version of the SL-20. Housed in a compact pedal size, full of pulse patterns and extremely user friendly, the SL-2 has the potential to becoming a hit.
The BOSS SL-2 has several, very handy and great sounding output options. Each option delivers a different end result atmosphere. Fixed for the standard mono, 3D Cross and 3D Rotation for circular and dimensional experience, Ping-Pong is where the tone jumps from one side to the other and you even have “Random” too. While it is not possible to switch output mods on the fly, it is pretty quick and easy to do so.
8 Types and 11 Variations give you 88 rhythmical patterns to work with. On top of that you have Balance, Duty and Attack controls to shape the SL2’s waveform. To understand how each control affects the signal, we recommend trying the BOSS SL-2 on our player.
You can set the tempo of the BOSS SL-2 using the dedicated tempo control, naturally. But also via tap or Midi. When using Midi you can also bound the start, stop of the pedal to it, making it very easy to include the SL-2 in complex musical arrangements.
