Buff It Out
This is one very different approach to the world of fuzz. Normally we see Volume, Gain and if we’re lucky Tone controls.
Analog Alien are one of those companies which have a lot of character, the bright colours of their pedals, the cartoony graphics, that name!
Run by brothers Jack & Joe Napoli the company came about as a result of their recording studio Cloud 9 based on Long Island.
Jack & Joe have recorded many huge artists who use their pedals today.
The brothers wanted gear to gear the right sound people wanted in the studio and once created everyone they worked with wanted to buy one.
The boys decided to make a great sounding fuzz and then decided to give you control over how it fuzzes by controlling the input level, ok that’s nice but we’ve seen it a few times before so what else?
Well the stab control is a little like bias or starve controls wherein reducing the stab control produces an increasingly gated, aggressive tone, mix that with a bit of delay for some wonderful fun.
So why put a buffer on a footswitch, well when it comes to pedals some like buffers and some don’t. Some pedals scream when a buffer hits them and others perform better than ever so with this in mind Jack & Joe decided to give you the option to switch their high class pre amp buffer in and out as you like it.
Its truly something you’ll feel more than hear but at times it can make all the difference between a good tone and a great tone!
