BOSS MD-2: A mega distortion pedal that gives you all

The BOSS MD-2 is a vicious dual gain distortion, period! It pushes your bottom sounds to the very extreme. It is produced by Boss Corporation.

This distortion weighs 0.4 Kg and has a 1.9V battery included in the package. Its shiny red colour is attractive, boastful, and makes this pedal stand out on your board . This pedal runs on 9V and has dimensions of 5.83 × 3.58 × 2.64 inches.

The BOSS MD-2 is now modified to handle 7-string guitars. It houses 4 control knobs; Level, Tone, Distortion, and Gain Boost. The tone control has been modified to maintain high and low-frequency balance.

What we think about this tough pedal

The BOSS MD-2 is an “in your face” distortion. It literally blows up your sound in your own face. It has a healthy bottom and slicing top, a lot of gain and colour. 

The interesting thing about the MD-2 is the additional ‘gain boost’ it offers; dialling it clockwise will thicken your distortion sound even more. It doesn’t matter what level stage you play; the MD-2 will deliver a crushing distortion with an endless sustain.
