In recent years electro-acoustic guitars have become all the rage, and it’s easy to see why. In the last few decades, the combination of CNC routing and improvements to pick-up technology have led to a boom in mass-produced electro-acoustic guitars.
That being said, not all guitars are made equal, and a good electro-acoustic has to balance a number of different priorities.
Some only sound nice un-plugged, others have decent pick-ups but don’t feel nice to play. Finding an electro-acoustic that balances sound, aesthetics, and price can be difficult, but that’s the challenge the LAG T70ACE was born to meet.
If there’s one thing LAG guitars are great for it’s their designs.
The LAG T70ACE is a beautifully modern take on an electro-acoustic but retains a certain timeless quality.
On the one hand, the French manufacturer have elected for a classic, cut-away shape with a Sitka Spruce top. At the same time, they’ve chosen to move the fret markers up to the side of the neck giving the fretboard a nice, clean aesthetic.
So the LAG T70ACE looks great and it feels great but how does it sound?
Well although it’s a little weak on the bass end, this guitar has a pretty nice overall sound and considering that it only retails at around $300-400 it’s not bad for a beginner guitar.
With that in mind, it’s worth saying that if you’re looking for something a bit more professional then you might want to go upmarket from here. The T70ACE certainly isn’t bad, but at the same time, it’s a beginner to mid level guitar and if you want a really nice, full sound with lots of natural reverb then it wouldn’t hurt to spend a little more.
Of course, that’s just our opinion. Why not check the LAG T70ACE out here on Tonepedia as well as other LAG guitars, and decide for yourself if you think it’s worth the money.
