If you are looking for vintage tone with higher output, look no further. Reaching 9-10K output, this set is both hot and punchy, yet not modern. The Fender Texas Special CS Telecaster set is a great choice for heavier blues, country and rock. Let’s check it out!
Looking at the Texas Special CS Telecaster set, we can immediately see it’s a high quality one. The enamel coated wire is put nicely on the Alnico 5 magnet. The soldering work on the wires looks good and overall the materials are of high quality. Unlike traditional bridge pickup, on this set the poles are staggered, which yields in a hotter pickup. Thought was put into this set.
Reading 10.2 at the bridge and 9 at the neck, we can agree that this is a hotter set than normal. Surprisingly, it is not muddy nor harsh. You simply get a healthy overdrive from it rather quick and lots of good punch. We like how well it reacts to lower guitar volume, making it a pretty versatile set in our opinion.
